Privacy Policy — ETF Tools for Tekmetric
Last updated: August 1, 2026
ETF Tools for Tekmetric ("the extension") is an internal tool built by ETF Auto for its own
service writers and managers. It is not offered to the general public and is distributed
unlisted to ETF Auto staff. It runs only on meineke.tekmetric.com, the shop
management system ETF Auto already uses.
What the extension handles
The extension reads the repair order the user already has open, in order to display
information alongside it:
- Job and part lines, costs and retail prices — used to check pricing against ETF Auto's
parts pricing matrix and to detect jobs missing a warranty fee.
- Vehicle service records and prior job history — used to show which services are due.
- The customer's phone number — used to look up that customer's recent calls to ETF Auto
shops.
What is transmitted, and where
One item leaves the user's device: the customer's phone number, which is sent
to ETF Auto's own internal dashboard (dashboard-hub-two.vercel.app) to retrieve
summaries of that customer's recent calls to our shops. The response is displayed in the browser
and is not stored.
All other reading and writing happens against the user's existing Tekmetric session, on
Tekmetric's own servers. No data is sent to any other destination.
What is stored
- On the device: one user preference — whether the user has hidden the
extension's toolbar. No customer, vehicle or repair order data is written to browser
storage.
- On ETF Auto's servers: call records for ETF Auto's own shops (phone
number, call time, store, and a summary of the call), retained on a rolling window of
roughly 35 days and then deleted automatically. This data originates from ETF Auto's
existing call-tracking service, not from the extension.
What the extension does not do
- It does not sell or transfer any data to third parties.
- It does not use data for any purpose unrelated to assisting ETF Auto staff on a repair
order.
- It does not use data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
- It does not track browsing, clicks, keystrokes or location, and it is inactive on every
website other than Tekmetric.
- It does not collect user credentials. It uses the Tekmetric session the user is already
signed in to, and that session token is never transmitted anywhere except back to
Tekmetric.
Who can access the data
Access is limited to authorized ETF Auto employees. Requests from the extension to ETF Auto's
dashboard are authenticated and restricted to single-customer lookups.
